You may recognize M.J Garrett from the popular series "The Real World Philadelphia" MTV; "The Real World Austin--Casting Special" MTV; or "The Real World/Road Rules Challenge" MTV.

M.J. speaks to college students across the country on topics including diversity, cultural differences, as well as his experiences on "The Real World Philadelphia."  College and universities where M.J. has appeared include University of Kentucky, University of South Carolina, Temple University, Slippery Rock, University of North Dakota, Texas A&M, University of Delaware and many more.

M.J. has made approximately 100+ appearances at various venues across the country.  Appearances usually fill the venue to capacity.  Depending on the size of the venue, 300-1,000 teenagers, young adults, and beyond come to see M.J. at every appearance.  In addition, M.J. has hosted Spring Break 2005 events and contests in hot-spots such as South Padre Island and Panama City

M.J. Garrett is on the crew of “Tennessee Mornings,” which airs on Nashville’s WZTV FOX-17 from 6a.m. to 8a.m. (Monday-Friday) as a sports and entertainment reporter.   Previously he was a featured guest on "Talk of the Town" an entertainment based show airing on WTVF CBS 5 in Nashville, "Tennessee Mornings" on WZTV FOX 17 in Nashville, and "Good Day Philadelphia" WTXF FOX-29 in Philadelphia. 

On Wednesday afternoons you can hear M.J on the “The Sports Drive with R.T.” on ESPN Radio 93.1 FM in Columbia, South Carolina.

A recent Vanderbilt University graduate, M.J. Garrett was a standout athlete.  He began his football career at Vanderbilt in 1999, graduating after the 2002-2003 season.  After playing in every game as a freshman, M.J. was a starting wide receiver during his next three years.  Known as one of the team's hardest workers and often the team leader, M.J. had an exceptional career at Vanderbilt and fell just short of making the leap to the NFL. 

M.J. graduated from Vanderbilt in 2003 with a degree in Human and Organizational Development

Before being cast for MTV's "The Real World Philadelphia," M.J. was in Marketing Development for the non-profit organization Backfield in Motion, where he also served as a coach and mentor for inner-city youth.
